Experiential Learning with Horses

"Excellence is not a skill. It is an attitude." - Ralph Marston
We offer the following seminars and trainings:

Coaching
Professional Women
Why are horses suitable for leadership training?
Horses always ask: Who is leading? They expect us to:
- put our values into action
- be rather than do
- take unconditional response-ability
- communicate authentically speak our truth
- follow through with absolute clarity and purpose
In so doing, they help us understand that leadership begins with who we are - our integrity. Who we are, determines what we can and cannot do.
Having no ego and living in the world of non-verbal communication, horses are not impressed with position, money or power. Horses fight for their place in the herd hierarchy and choose a leader whom they feel will keep them safe and ensure their survival.
Horses model the essential qualities of trust, authenticity, honesty, intuition, listening, willingness and perseverance. They provide 100% honest, non-judgemental feedback, reflecting back our strength of character, our heart, our internal incongruence and our self-limiting perceptions.
Horses live one hundred percent in the present. Their power lies in their ability to choose and to act for the sole purpose of staying alive. Each day requires a different degree of focus, stamina, determination and presence.
Horses help us close the gap between how we actually present ourselves to others, and how we think we do. Working with horses takes us on a significant journey - this is a process, not an event - called accelerated, emotional learning.
Horse-Alliance seminars are reduced to the essentials of leadership practice. Our horses have the instinctive and natural behaviours that enable us to quickly arrive at what leadership is all about. Learning is a process of change and in order to learn, we must, to a certain degree, let go of who we think we are and what we think we know.
At Horse-Alliance, we don't give advice or answers. There is no right or wrong way to lead, there is your way! We hold a space for you to expand into and the horses lead the way. All you need is within you. It's not about the horses, it's about YOU - and as you work with the horses, you'll have a lot of fun along the way!

Horse-Alliance Seminars
THE ART OF NATURAL LEADERSHIP
"Good leadership consists of doing less and being more." - The Tao of Leadership - John Heider
Eye-opening.....Effective.....Holistic
To be successful as leaders, we know we need more than technical competence. We need emotional and social intelligence. We need to grow as people because we know that who we are is the main determinant of what we can and cannot do.
In this seminar you'll experience the essence of leadership and leadership models in a powerful and practical way. In the exercises we do, our co-trainers demand you fulfil your role as their leader - nothing more and nothing less. We learn to keep our heart open and our mind sharp and to tap into our imagination and create options.
Our ground exercises highlight:
- Subtleties of verbal and non-verbal communication
- Freedom, responsibility and integrity
- Being 100% in the moment
- Intention vs. behaviour
- Identifying & respecting boundaries
- Influence vs. control
- Confronting fear & developing confidence
You will receive feedback from three sources, namely, video, team members and the horses. We keep theory to a minimum, but all results are related back to our every-day lives and our professional world. Time is set aside for personal reflection and discussion.
Our experience shows participants are able to profoundly enhance their self-knowledge, self-image and self-responsibility, when working with our co-trainers!
You are guaranteed an experience you'll never forget!

PROFESSIONAL WOMEN
"The centered and grounded leader has stability and a sense of self.
I know where I stand and I know what I stand for: That is ground.
" - The Tao of Leadership - John Heider
"Life is yours to make sense of, and its value is the sense you choose to make of it.
" - Jean-Paul Sartre
Stability.....Flexibility.....Endurance
You may never have received formal leadership training, but as a woman you probably wear many hats and fill many roles as you work hard to balance demands of your family, career and involvement in your community. To meet all these obligations, you have to be able to manage stress, make good choices, keep your emotions in check and look out for the needs of others. In effect, that is practical leadership - leading others, effecting change and bringing calm to chaos!
The Horse-Alliance Professional Women's seminar gives you the opportunity to recognize your own unconscious style of leading, to work with your energy, your purpose and your creative potential - your true self - to be the best you can be. Horses teach us to be more authentic and aware, trustworthy and resourceful, to have an intention we care about and to focus and direct our energy in a forward-looking manner.
In this seminar we concentrate on ground exercises that highlight:
- Subtleties of verbal and non-verbal communication
- Being in the moment
- Intention vs. behaviour
- Identifying & respecting boundaries
- Influence vs. control
- Confronting fear & developing confidence
Feedback comes from three sources, namely video, team members and from the horses. Theory is kept to a minimum, but all results are related back to our every-day lives and our professional world. Time is set aside for personal reflection and discussion.
